Olivia,
What a great shot.
Where? Right there, look at where I`m pointing. Right there. Sheesh!
Fabulous action just standing still.

Morning Olivia, Head and Andi.

When I first saw it, I thought I was getting ready to attack something. I think I need to get some coffee and my glasses on.

Looks to me like he's about to expel the remnants of his last meal. >:-} Hey, jet propulsion helps with the takeoff, right?

Hi there Andi.

Was going to say good morning but looks like I missed it.

So, my muse ... I'm having trouble w/ motivation in all this snow ... got any ideas? :-)

LOL FM.

He was really just showing off -- preening and whatnot. He didn't actually fly anywhere, but fluffed his wings a bit and then hopped down into the water to look for food.

Hope you had a good w/e!

Notice the slim neck though -- wouldn't we see an outline of a fish ... ;-)

Oh Mercy!! How exciting! Did you have your camera set for multiple shots or are you the cleverest, luckiest most perfect timing photographer in the world? Ahhhh, it's the latter, silly me. LOL

We have a few herons that stay at the pond in back and every now and then I see them flying so close to the water that their wing tips touch. I keep thinking, "I wish I had Olivia's skill so I could get that picture."

I might have to break out the camcorder and try to capture it. However, it's too cold out there to sit and wait now.

Hi there P4.

LOL, I wish ... :)

I have it set to continuous shooting all the time ... it's one of the things I've learned works best for my style.

The problem is when I forget to switch off of long exposures and then the next time I go to take a pic, I have to sit for 30 seconds ... Now that's frustrating ... :)

FM ... too cold?!

Didn't you say say it was in the 70s ... :)

Yep in the 70's - so what's your question? :)

Actually a cold front has hit and it's 53F here at the moment. Supposed to get down to around -2.7C tonight.

Plus down here it's either air conditioning or heater weather, no in between. So I have to wait for the perfect temperature - 24.4444444C. And it has to be to that last 4 before I would venture outside for a long period. :)

Wow, that sharp beak really does look like the nose of the Concordes that I used to see growing up in the shadow of Kennedy airport. Great shot, Olivia.
