Grackle silhouette
Notes: 2009-06-08 On the roof Nikon D300 18-200mm @200mm 1/1000s ƒ18 iso200 We have two grackle nests, along w/ a robin's nest and the dove nest, in the front yard. It's babybird central out there.
I like the contrast of dark and light and the sense of malevolence the ravenish (new word) bird gives. So cool you were able to catch him in that pose.

Olivia,
Very nice gargoyle.
I like the framing.
Very cool shot.
...and noisy, too.
Hi Head ... :)
John ... oh boy, are they ever. Ack ... :)
Wowie zowie!! Is this ever cool!! Beautiful shot. You even have him grackling out loud. What does your kitty think of all this activity?
Hi CF ... he doesn't like it at all ... :)
I love that picture. But I'm greedy -- now I want a silhouette of one of the baby birds being fed.

Nevermore!!
wow i love this so much. the play between the positive / negative space is just great.
And they all demand that you photograph them!
Babybird central indeed!! Love it, simply just love it.
Fabulous photograph, Olivia!
Thanks everyone.
Andi -- I don't think that's going to happen. Besides, the baby robins are all grown up and out of the nest now.
Oooh. Missed this one. What perfection!
Oh my goodness, wonderful silhouette!
What a pretty, pretty shot.
