Ottawa got coated yesterday in freezing rain, then snow. The day before that (Christmas day) Clarington got coated (my parents' lawn was like a skating rink). And we seemed to always be travelling in the path of it this Christmas which made for a stressful and non-festive time (not being able to make it to places and having to postpone visits which really sucked since we had to drive all the way to Toronto to start with) .................. but ***deep breath*** I am happy to be home now. Ommmmmmm ... ***more deep breaths*** ...

Just love these feathered creatures ... Some land and you feel the slightest pinch of talon ... some, you can feel their heft ... some are as light as air ... some are barely down and then gone in a blink ... some take their time and sit awhile ... some are nervous and come ever so close but never land ... all are marvels ... they bring me much joy.

I have a love/hate relationship w/ both roses and coffee ... They're both so yummy, but for different reasons cause me grief. Roses - As long-time visitors and friends know, I inherited a number (read: 50) roses bushes when I moved into my house and their daily care requirements were so time consuming I eventually gave up and tried to kill them through neglect. Unfortunately, they're still growing strong, though not as tidily (<-- major understatement). Coffee - well, I have a low tolerance for caffeine and w/ my one measly cup a day I can't go w/out or endure terrible withdrawal headaches that last for days ... lol.

We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure...

Striped Scarf in alternating balls of Noro Silk Garden ... pattern isn't all that exciting (simple 2x2 ribbing), but delicious rows of colour emerge - I'm loving this one!

Babette blanket, a modified Granny-square with different sizes of squares joined together and looks like abstract art when complete ... at the moment having a struggle deciding how to join the squares in a way that's pleasing to the eye

Moorish Mosaic blanket, love-love-love the rich fall-like colours, and the odd pattern ... Not allowing myself to work on this one 'til the Babette is done (but had to try out a few rows ;-)

Simple striped scarf in Noro Kureyon, the most frustrating yarn I've worked with in a long time, has given me numerous headaches and screaming and throwing fits ... even though I love the colours, I will most likely set it aside for the sake of my health ...
